About
The Ribbon Report

We’re here to take the guesswork out of gifting and
make it more meaningful, beautiful, and personal.

A passion for gifts and the moments behind them.

The Ribbon Report was created for anyone who believes a thoughtful gift can say what words sometimes can’t.

We started this space to share handpicked gift ideas, honest reviews, and curated guides for every mom, every budget, and every occasion.

From everyday little luxuries to unforgettable keepsakes, we’re here to inspire meaningful gifting that brings joy to both the giver and the one who receives.

The gal behind the bow

I’m a mom of two who became completely obsessed with finding gifts that actually land — not the generic stuff, but the ones that make people gasp, tear up, or immediately text you back.

The Ribbon Report started as a notes doc I kept for myself. Now it’s a full-on gift hub, and I couldn’t be happier you’re here.

My story

How it all started

The started with my mom’s birthday. I’d been scrolling for three hours — three hours — and I still had nothing. Every gift guide I found was either stuffed with things no one actually wants or gated behind some sketchy mailing list. I was exhausted, frustrated, and deeply aware that Mother’s Day was in four days.

That night I started a notes doc. I called it “gifts that don’t suck.” I put everything in there — candles I’d actually burned, books I’d actually read, jewellery I’d actually worn. I texted it to my sister when she asked me the same question a week later.

“She texted back: ‘this should be a website.’ So I made a website.”

That was two years ago. The Ribbon Report now covers gifts for every occasion, every budget, and every person on your list — vetted by someone who genuinely loves giving gifts and hates wasting money on ones that miss.

Everything you see here has been personally researched, tested, or gifted. I use affiliate links to keep the lights on, and I’ll always tell you when I do. My only rule: I won’t recommend something I wouldn’t give to my own mom.

Thanks for being here. I hope you find exactly what you’re looking for — and that whoever receives it gasps a little.

A few things you should know about me

Gifts tested
0 +

I’ve personally bought, wrapped, and given over 200 of the gifts featured on this site. Research is just gifting with a notepad.

Kids who inspired this

My two kids are the reason I became a gifting expert — nothing teaches you about thoughtful giving like raising small humans with big opinions.
Candles burned (and counting)

Yes, I keep track. It started as research and became a lifestyle. My home smells incredible. My family has opinions.

Coffee order

Oat milk latte, always. No exceptions, no substitutions. This is non-negotiable.

Wrapping style

Colour-coordinated, always. Mismatched wrapping paper is a personal affront.

Most gifted item

The Otherland candle set. I've recommended it to over 300 people. It has never once missed.

Gifting philosophy

The best gifts are ones the recipient would never buy for themselves. That's the whole game.

Currently reading

Three books at once, all with bookmarks. I have no regrets and no memory of where I left off.

Time spent gift shopping

Before this blog: hours. After: minutes. That's the whole point of being here.
